My payment was declined: how to fix it

If checkout says your payment failed, the decline is coming from your bank, not from us. It's usually quick to fix.

Why it happens

Wedding Studio is based outside the United States, so some US banks automatically flag the payment as an unusual international transaction, even when your card is perfectly fine.

Fixes, in order of what works best

  1. Pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay. This works for the large majority of declined cards, because the payment is pre-authorised by your phone.
  2. Approve it with your bank. Check for a fraud-alert text or app notification from your bank, confirm the payment is yours, then try again. Or call the number on the back of your card and ask them to allow a charge from "wedding.studio".
  3. Try a different card. Credit cards are declined less often than debit cards.
  4. Check the details. A wrong postcode/ZIP, expiry date or CVC will also cause a decline.

Was I charged for the failed attempts?

No. A declined payment is never charged. You may see a temporary "pending" authorisation in your banking app, which disappears on its own within a few days.

Still not working?

Email info@wedding.studio from the address you're trying to buy with. We can see the exact decline reason on our side and help you from there.
