Supported file types and size limits for photos and videos

Photos

Formats: JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, and iPhone HEIC/HEIF
Maximum size: 50 MB per photo
RAW camera files aren't supported. Export them as JPG first.

Videos

Formats: MP4, MOV (iPhone), WebM and AVI
Maximum size: 2.5 GB per video
There's no set time limit. It's the file size that matters. As a rough guide, 2.5 GB is around 25 to 30 minutes of standard 1080p phone video, or around 6 to 8 minutes of 4K at 60 fps.
Video uploads need a paid plan. On the Free plan, guests can upload photos only.

How many can guests upload?

Unlimited. There's no cap on the number of photos or videos and no storage limit.

Is quality reduced?

No. We keep the original, full-resolution file of everything uploaded, and that's what you get when you download. For fast viewing in the gallery we also create lighter, web-friendly versions, and videos stream at up to 720p. Your downloads are always the originals.

What about iPhone HEIC photos?

They upload fine. We show a converted version in the gallery so they display on every device, and keep the original HEIC for download. If you need JPGs, most computers can convert HEIC files, or guests can set their iPhone to Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible before the wedding.

Live Photos

Live Photos upload as a normal still photo. The motion part isn't included.

Why was a file rejected?

"File type not supported": it's not one of the formats above.
"...is too large": it's over 50 MB (photo) or 2.5 GB (video). Trim the video or send it in parts.
"...seems too small to be valid": the file is likely damaged or a tiny thumbnail rather than the real photo.
"Filename contains invalid characters": rename the file without symbols such as < > : " | ? * \
"Video uploads require a premium plan": the album is on the Free plan.

Large videos

Use Wi-Fi, keep the screen awake and the page open until it says Upload complete. After uploading, a long video can take a few minutes to process before it appears.
