Album privacy: passwords, guest names and who can find your album

How private is my album by default?

Your album can only be opened by someone who has your guest link or QR code. The link contains a long random code that can't be guessed, and albums aren't listed publicly or searchable. Guests never need an account.

Because anyone with the link can open it, avoid posting the link or QR code publicly on social media. For extra protection, use the settings below, found under Configure album → Privacy & access.

Password protection

Switch on Password protection and choose a password. Guests see a "Password Required" screen and must enter it before they can view or upload. Share the password on your printed cards or by word of mouth. If guests see "Invalid password", check capital letters and spaces, since passwords are case-sensitive.

Require names

With Require names on, guests enter their name before accessing the album (email is optional), so you know who shared what. With it off, guests can upload anonymously and are offered an optional name prompt. Voice messages in the audio guestbook always ask for a name.

Show uploader's name

Controls whether each uploader's name appears on photos in the guest gallery. Turn it off if you'd rather guests didn't see who uploaded what. You'll still see names in your own account.

Show on wedding guest page

Untick this to keep an album off your welcome page. Its direct link and QR code continue to work, which is handy for a private album for close family only.

Removing something you don't want there

From Guest uploads you can hide any photo or video from guests, or delete it entirely. There's no approval queue. Uploads appear straight away, so use upload-only or Disposable Camera mode if you'd like to review everything first.

Album thumbnail

If you pick a specific photo as your public album thumbnail, that image is visible on your welcome page even when the album is password-protected or hidden. Leave it on Automatic to hide thumbnails for restricted albums.
