Showing a live slideshow on a TV or projector at your reception
The live slideshow plays your guests' photos full-screen and adds new ones as they're uploaded. It's a lovely way to get everyone sharing during the reception.
Turn it on
- Open your album and click Configure album.
- Under Guest experience, switch on Slideshow.
Start it on the big screen
- On the device connected to the screen, open a web browser and go to your guest album link.
- Tap the slideshow button and make the browser full-screen.
Each photo shows for a few seconds with a soft crossfade, the controls hide themselves, and newly uploaded photos join automatically.
Ways to connect a screen
- Laptop + HDMI cable to the TV or projector. This is the most reliable option.
- Smart TV, Fire TV Stick or Chromecast: open the TV's web browser and type your album link, or cast or mirror a browser tab from a laptop or phone.
- Apple TV: use AirPlay screen mirroring from a Mac, iPad or iPhone.
Ask your venue or DJ. They usually have a laptop and cable ready.
Tips
- The gallery must be Visible to guests for the slideshow to have something to show. It can't display an upload-only album or an unrevealed Disposable Camera album.
- Everything uploaded appears on screen. If you'd like a safety net, ask a co-host to keep an eye on Guest uploads and hide anything unsuitable.
- Turn off the laptop's sleep mode and screen saver, plug it in, and use venue Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot.
- Test the full setup before guests arrive.
