Welcome page vs. direct-to-album, and what happens to QR cards you've already printed
When guests scan your code or open your link, they can land in one of two places. You choose.
The two options
- Link directly to your album. Guests arrive in the album and can upload straight away. This is the simplest option and best if you have one album.
- Link to a welcome page. Guests see your cover page first, then choose an album. This is ideal if you have several albums (rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception) or want to show your registry alongside your photos.
Choose in Share with guests or in the guest page editor under Link settings.
Will changing this break cards I've already printed?
No. Printed QR codes never stop working. Here's what to expect:
- Changing your sharing destination affects links and QR codes you copy or download from now on.
- QR cards already printed, and invitation emails already sent, keep opening what they opened before.
- If you'd like your older printed album codes to open the welcome page instead (or the other way round), open album settings and find Older links & QR cards. Choose Album or Welcome page first. The app shows you exactly which links will be affected before you save. No reprinting needed.
One QR code for several albums
Use the welcome page. Guests scan one code, see all the albums you've chosen to show, and pick where to upload. Each album also keeps its own direct link and QR code if you'd rather put different codes in different places.
Hiding an album from the welcome page
In album settings, under Privacy & access, untick Show on wedding guest page. The album's own link and QR code still work. At least one album must stay visible while the welcome page is in use.
